SPECIAL ABILITIES

Grant Wishes (Su)

By expending a resolve point, a marid can grant a nongenie a wish, as per the wish spell. No single creature can be granted more than three wishes by the same genie in a day.

Water’s Fury (Su)

As a standard action, a marid can release a jet of water in a 60-foot line that deals 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage and blinds the target struck for 1d6 rounds. A DC 19 Reflex save reduces the damage by half and negates the blinding effect.

Water Mastery (Ex)

Waterborne creatures take a -1 penalty to attack and damage rolls against a marid.

Genies are powerful immortal beings from the Elemental Planes. They came into being long ago, formed from fire and air and given life by the creation of the universe.

As beings of ancient power, genies have the ability to make almost anything they want to appear as reality.

This power has some restrictions placed on them by the gods forged in an ancient pact. The power of universal creation is known as a “wish” and can only be granted to another being. Those who defied the gods were captured and placed in various items as a form of prison. Those that possess the item can call upon the genies trapped within and command them to use their powers.

Marid are the genies from the Plane of Water.

They are the most powerful of the geniekind and expect to be treated as such. Much like the oceans they dwell in, marid are unpredictable and tempestuous.

A marid stands 16 feet tall and weighs about 2,500 pounds (250 bulk).
