SPECIAL ABILITIES

Corrosive Mass (Ex)

A creature that hits the pudding with a metal or wooden weapon must succeed at a DC 15 Reflex saving throw or the weapon takes 2d6+7 points of acid damage (after dealing damage to the ooze as normal). Thrown weapons and ammunition take this damage automatically with no save. Black pudding acid does not affect stone.

Corrosive Touch (Ex)

When a black pudding hits a target with its slam attack, the acid damage is dealt to the creature’s armor and clothing as well as the creature.

Split (Ex)

When the black pudding is hit by an attack that deals slashing or piercing damage while it has 10 or more hit points, the ooze splits into two identical puddings, each with half the original’s HP. One pudding is in the same space as the original, and the other appears in an adjacent unoccupied space. If no adjacent space is unoccupied, it automatically pushes creatures and objects out of the way to fill the space (the GM can determine if an object or creature is too large to be pushed out of its space).

Suction (Ex)

The black pudding can climb on ceilings and other inverted surfaces, tough such surfaces are difficult terrain for it.

Oozes are mobile forms of protoplasm that live to consume any organic matter in their path. Whenever these slimes sense a living creature nearby, they slither towards the creature, intent on engulfing and devouring it with acidic secretions. They mindlessly attack any organic creatures they encounter, dissolving flesh, bone, and even metal armor before moving on to consume its next meal.

The average ooze measures 25 feet across and 2 feet thick. It weighs about 18,000 pounds (1800 bulk).
