Integrated Weapons (Ex)

A walker’s weapons are integrated into its frame and cannot be disarmed.

Piloted (Ex)

The walker requires an active pilot to take any of its actions. If the pilot is subjected to any conditions that the walker is not immune to, the walker is also subject to those conditions. The pilot may take their own action or one of the actions granted by the walker.

Towering (Ex)

Creatures of Medium size or smaller can stand in the walker’s space.

Vulnerable Interior (Ex)

The Firedrake Walker’s interior is vulnerable to damage done by grenades and other explosives. The walker and its pilots automatically fail all saving throws from explosives thrown into the interior of the walker.

In their efforts to conquer systems outside of their controlled space, the Vesk Empire makes use of highly trained soldiers, mechanized walkers, and overwhelming numbers. Their army works in tandem with the Imperial Navy, relying on fleets of ships to transport their legions of soldiers across the far reaches of outer space.

While the ground soldiers do most of the fighting, they are backed up by heavy mechanized vehicles generally referred to as “walkers.” These walking weapon platforms are styled after the saurian megafauna found on many of the vesk worlds.

The Drake-class walkers are two-legged mechanized weapon platforms; used in place of the standard tanks found in many interstellar armies. With their twolegged designed, these walkers are able to maneuver in forests, deserts, rocks, and other terrain that other vehicles might otherwise find difficult or impossible to navigate.

The Firedrake Walker was designed upon the frame of an allosaurus. It is designed for long-distance walking and sprinting and is armed with a pair of heavy laser assault cannons. Despite its size, the walker is very fast, maneuverable, and well-suited for environments such as dense forests and jungles.

The Firedrake Walker often works side-by-side with the larger Behemoth Walkers in a support role. They protect the flanks of the larger walkers during major ground assaults. They are also used for reconnaissance and support for ground soldiers. As such, they are essential for clearing minor pockets of resistance in the path of planned invasion routes.

Inside the Firedrake is enough room for two: a pilot and co-pilot/gunner. There is also storage space enough for the pilots’ personal items, a weapons bin large enough for two longarms, a canteen, and food rations.

Despite its speed and maneuverability, a Firedrake Walker’s weapons systems are designed to take out lightly-armored targets at close range. Its light armor is excellent against small-arms fire, but does little to stop heavy artillery or explosive ordnance.
