An ettercap can communicate with spiders. If the spider is friendly to the ettercap, it may do the ettercap favors. An ettercap can use Intimidate to bully spiders and can use any other language-dependent effect against spiders.

Web (Ex)

An ettercap can use webs to support itself and up to one other creature of the same size. In addition, it can throw the web as an attack, similar to a net. The web is effective against targets up to Medium-size. An entangled creature can escape with a successful Athletics check or by damaging the web with a small slashing weapon. Webs are vulnerable to fire damage.

Ettercaps are primitive, hunting aberrations that have an affinity with spiders. Like spiders, they use webs as traps to capture prey, which is then injected with paralytic venom from the ettercap’s bite.

Much like spiders, ettercaps tend to be solitary creatures, only gathering to mate. When ettercaps do socialize, it is with monstrous spiders, which they keep as pets and guards.

An adult ettercap stands 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds (20 bulk).
